Sandra Rohr, ARNP, has built a distinguished career spanning over three decades, earning a reputation for excellence, strategic vision, and transformative leadership. She has consistently shown a strong commitment to innovation, collaboration, and making a meaningful impact, contributing significantly to both the private and public sectors. Sandra’s journey into nursing began after she married and had three boys. To support her family, she took a job as a CNA at a care center and discovered her passion for caring for elderly and nursing. With her children in school, she pursued education as an EMT while working at a bone factory, where she could ride the ambulance during the day. When her family moved to Cedar Rapids, she continued her nursing education at UIHC and later transferred to Mount Mercy University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Over the next several years, Sandra worked in various hospital departments, including ICU, CCU, Recovery, and Surgical, where she developed a passion for Wound Ostomy and Continence (WOC) nursing. She expanded her knowledge by joining Care Pro Services, an employee-owned company offering home care, IV infusion, pharmacy support, integrative health, compounding, and medical supplies.  While working for CarePro, Sandra pursued her WOC nurse specialist education at WEB WOC Nursing Education Program through Metro State University, Minneapolis, MN. She has maintained her national certification in wounds, ostomies, and continence (CWOCN) since 2006, a field she continues to love. Sandra has provided services to numerous care centers, smaller hospitals, wound centers, and GI offices. Recognizing the importance of continuous education and growth, Sandra returned to school and completed a master’s degree in Family Nurse Practice at South University in Savannah, Georgia. While working full-time, she finished her FNP and obtained her Board Certification. Driven by her passion for positive change, she transitioned her nursing career to a new community. During this time, she also began teaching online classes for WEB WOC® Programs, sharing her passion and helping to grow the field of WOC Nurse Specialists. Sandra decided to grow her practice in North Iowa, bringing her expertise to the area. Over the past eight years, she has gained exposure and tackled pressing challenges, earning recognition from peers and leadership alike. These experiences have instilled in her an appreciation for diverse perspectives, adaptability, and the importance of cultivating collaborative relationships. All these experiences led Sandra to the Community Health Center of Mason City. She believes her long- and short-term strategies align her personal and professional goals with the organizational goals, addressing the community’s needs and opportunities. Outside of her professional life, Sandra enjoys activities that enrich her well-being, such as yoga and meditation. She is an avid reader, lifelong learner, and enjoys growing flowers and plants, cooking, and spending time with her family. Sandra adores her only grandchild, Sophia, and cherishes her role as a grandmother, which is evident in her care for children.
