Mason City Welcomes Michael Gerber, PMHNP

Mason City, IA — Community Health Center of Mason City is proud to welcome Michael Gerber, PMHNP, to its behavioral health team. Michael will soon be seeing both children and adults for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management of a wide range of mental health symptoms.  

With over a decade of experience, Michael brings a strong focus on mental health care and a deep commitment to serving the community. He began his advanced practice career in primary care at People’s Community Clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Waterloo, where he served patients from 2017 to 2020. During that time, he pursued additional training and became a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). 

For the past five years, Michael has provided compassionate care to both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric patients in Mason City, working with specialized programs like Suboxone, Spravato, and Senior Life Solutions. His experience across diverse healthcare settings and his dedication to mental health make him an asset to both our team and the community we serve.

Community Health Center of Mason City is a federally qualified health center providing medical, dental and behavioral health services. Services are available to all individuals, regardless of insurance status. The health center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most major insurance plans as well as a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.
