Spencer, IA – Community Health Center of Spencer is pleased to welcome a new Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Heather Martin, to the Behavioral Health Team, expanding access to mental health services for individuals and families in the area. 

Heather began her nursing education at Iowa Central Community College, earning an associate’s degree in nursing in 2009. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Iowa in 2015. She holds two master’s degrees from Briar Cliff University, earning a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2022 and a master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2026. 

Her professional background includes experience in inpatient geriatric behavioral health as well as working with children with disabilities. She is excited to begin her new role with Community Health Center and looks forward to expanding mental health services and providing additional resources to individuals in the area.
