Halloween-Themed Event to Raise Funds for Community Health Center's Dental RV Unit
Fort Dodge, Iowa – Make your Halloween weekend extra special by joining the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge for a night of fun and philanthropy at the Annual Costumes and Comedy Fundraiser! On Saturday, October 26th, the showroom at Shimkat Motor Company in Fort Dodge will be the place to be for an evening filled with entertainment, community spirit, and support for a worthy cause.
The fundraiser will feature a trio of engaging activities designed to raise funds for an essential new resource: a Dental RV. This mobile unit will be equipped with two dental operatories, including dental chairs and equipment, to provide comprehensive dental care—from preventative exams and cleanings to restorative services like fillings and dentures. “We currently visit two local schools with a mobile dental unit to provide six-month exams, cleaning and sealants if necessary and determine treatment plans. However, students then need to be referred to our office or other local dentists for restorative work. With this new RV unit, we’ll be able to perform those restorative procedures on-site,” said Renae Kruckenberg, CEO of Community Health Center of Fort Dodge. “We received a grant earlier this year and are really getting close to meeting our goal.” she went on to say.

The evening will include a dinner of roast beef or chicken, cheesy hash browns, salads, and a dinner roll. Drinks will be available for purchase, and an assortment of desserts will be auctioned off during dinner.
Tickets for the Costumes and Comedy event are priced at $45 in advance or $50 at the door. They can be purchased at Shimkat Motor Company, Community Health Center, or online at CHCFD.com.
Raffle tickets are also on sale, with three exciting prizes: an $800 prize package to Shimkat Motor Company, a $500 Fareway Gift Card, and a $500 Hy-Vee Gift Card. Tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100 and can be bought from health center staff, at Shimkat Motor Company, or online at CHCFD.com. A total of 500 tickets are available, and you do not need to be present to win.
Online/Silent Auction: Starting Friday, October 18, the online auction will feature a range of local gift certificates, services, and unique items. Bidding will close on Saturday, October 26 at 9:00 PM, coinciding with the live event. Participants can bid from home or from their phones during the event.
“We’re thrilled to host this event and make it a Halloween to remember while raising funds for a project that will significantly benefit our community,” said Regina Suhrbier, Outreach Coordinator. “Although costumes are not required, they are encouraged, and we’re looking forward to seeing some fantastic ones this year. We’ll also have a costume contest for those who want to participate.”
Community Health Center of Fort Dodge is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center offering medical, dental, and behavioral health services. We are open to everyone, regardless of insurance status, and accept Medicare, Medicaid, most major insurance plans, and offer a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.
