Community Health Center of Mason City celebrates 7 years of service with a Root Beer Float community appreciation event

Mason City, IA – Community Health Center of Mason City invites the public to a Root beer float community appreciation event on Tuesday, October 1, from 11 am – 3 pm in honor of providing 7 years of Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health services to the community.

From September 16, 2024, to September 15, 2025, the clinic served 3,559 patients across 11,924 total visits — including medical, dental, behavioral health, and eye exams.

“We’re proud of the impact we’ve made over the past 7 years and want to thank our patients, staff and community partners,” said Renae Kruckenberg, CEO of Community Health Center. “This event is a way to say thank you and to welcome anyone who wants to learn more about the services we offer.”

What makes Community Health Center unique is its comprehensive approach to healthcare providing so many services under one roof. In addition to medical, dental and behavioral health the clinic employees a social worker and financial advocate. The social worker assists patients by connecting them to needed services in the community such as transportation, housing or food assistance. The financial advocate assists patients with marketplace enrollment, filling out the sliding fee scale and setting up payment plans. “We really care for the whole person, we have also started to offer pop-up eye exam days here in Mason City” said Colleen Miller, COO of Community Health Center. “We are always looking to fill the needs of the communities we serve”

As a Federally Qualified Health Center everyone is welcome regardless of insurance status. The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, most major insurance and offers a sliding fee scale for those who qualify. “No one is turned away; we are here for the health of everyone in the community and we have amazing providers who offer top quality care” said Clinic Manager Oteka Gonzalez.

This event is free and open to the public; guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary Root beer float and help celebrate.
