Kristin Brown

Kristin Brown joined Community Health Center in March 2024 as a mental health therapist. Kristin grew up in Northwood, Iowa. Kristin achieved a Bachelor of Arts of Psychology from Graceland University. She then went back completing a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services before her Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from Buena Vista University. Kristin has worked in a variety of settings including residential care, outpatient mental health, behavioral intervention services, foster care support, youth shelters, and community college residence. Her personal mission is assisting others in developing self-acceptance and hope while overcoming the past, being mindful of the now, and empowering the future. Kristin enjoys working with clients of all ages utilizing a mutli-theoretical approach including techniques and skills from a variety of theories such as cognitive behavior therapy, dialectic behavior therapy, sand tray, parent-child interaction therapy, aggression replacement training, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed therapy. She enjoys spending time with others, books, puzzles, and animals.
