Amanda Charlet, Clinic Manager

Amanda Charlet is a Phi Theta Kappa graduate from Iowa Central Community College in 2004 with an Associate’s Degree of Nursing. She worked for one-and-a-half years in the Pediatrics unit at Trinity Regional Medical Center and assisted in OB, and has worked for two-and-a-half years at the Family Practice Clinic at Wright Medical Center assisting in OR and ER. Amanda began working with the CHCFD in March of 2009.

 

Whitney Lockman, Administrative Services Manager

Whitney is the Administrative Services Manager at the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, Inc. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting with a double major in Accounting and Management. She will also be sitting for her CPA exam in the fall of 2009. Whitney has been employed by the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge since May of 2007.

 

Nancy Van De Pol, Patient Accounts Manager

Nancy is the Patient Accounts Manager at the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge. She has been employed with them since their opening day of April 17, 2006. Nancy has 15 years of experience she brings with her regarding all aspects of medical office and billing. Nancy worked for another local medical office for 10 years prior to joining the staff at CHCFD. She has resided in Fort Dodge for 32 years.

 

Dr. Janet Secor, D.O.

Janet Secor, D.O., is an osteopathic family practice physician, who joined Community Health Center of Fort Dodge in July, 2008. A Fort Dodge native, Janet has served as a physician in Fort Dodge for the past 27 years, and is an active medical staff member of Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Secor’s education has encompasses a multitude of experiences, including time in Mexican and Spain to develop Spanish language skills. She earned an A.A. Degree from Iowa Central Community College and received her B.A. and M.A. degrees in Spanish from Iowa Central and University of Northern Iowa. She taught high school Spanish at Turkey Valley Community Schools prior to being accepted as a medical student at Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. Following graduation in 1980, she successfully completed a rotating internship in Your, Pennsylvania and a general practice residency in Des Moines prior to returning to Fort Dodge to begin her practice of medicine. Dr. Secor brings business experiences as part of two person practice, as owner of a solo practice, and as part of a physician directed multispecialty practice. In addition to her Fort Dodge practice experiences, she worked part time for the Rockwell City and Fort Dodge correctional Facilities, and volunteered in the Free Clinic of Fort Dodge, traveled on a medical mission to Honduras. Finally, she has served as an Adjunct Professor for Des Moines University and precepted numerous osteopathic medical students and physician assistant students through the years. She brings her bilingual skills and lives for preventative medicine.

Dr. Secor has a variety of interest which enriches her life outside of the medicine. She has helped raise five children and reassures family activities, sings in Sonshine Singers and First Congregational United Church of Christ Choir, plays violin in the Fort Dodge Area Symphony, rings a bell or two for the King Ringers and First Congregational UCC bell choirs, enjoys traveling, camping, and meeting people. For Dr. Secor, boredom in nonexistent.

 

Dr. James O. Steele, M.D.

James O. Steele, M.D., is a Board-Certified Family Physician. He has been in practice for over 27 years- focusing on a full range of Family Medicine and also working as Medical Director. Dr. Steele graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1980 and went on to attend a 3 year Family Medicine Residency Program at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

Dr. Steele has a wide variety of experience working in both small and large medical practices. He has also worked in urgent care centers, small-town emergency rooms, institutional medicine, and has also served as an instructor in a Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Steele has also worked diligently on health care reform throughout his career!

Dr. Steele also brings administrative experience from his days as a Medical Director in several nursing homes, a large mental health institution, a county jail, and a Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Steele is excited to bring his medical and administrative experience to the CHCFD while he works hard to meet the challenges as both their Medical Director and Staff Physician!

 

Dr. Paul Robertson, D.D.S.

Dr. Paul Robertson, D.D.S., is a native of Marshalltown, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa state University in 1977 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Botany, with a minor in Horticulture. After ISU Dr. Robertson attended the Iowa College of Dentistry and graduated with a Dental Degree in 1986. Dr. Robertson practiced dentistry in Iowa for 7 years before moving to Missouri in 1993 where he practiced for 16 years. Dr. Robertson has a wide variety of experience working in both small and large dental practices. He has also worked at the Algoa Correctional Center in Missouri.

Dr. Robertson recently moved back to Iowa to be closer to his family. He enjoys walking, bicycling and an occasional game of golf.

Dr. Robertson is excited to be starting at Community Health Center of Fort Dodge’s new dental Clinic.
